Anyways...they have reached the German invasion of France and have been dispelling some long-held myths about the French defense of their home country in 1940. It turns out that General Charles Huntziger might be one of the biggest pieces of shite in military history. He was the commander of the French Second Army and almost single-handedly cost the French the war. His incompetence was so high it almost makes you wonder if he did it all intentionally.

One thing I didn't know was that the famed Maginot Line was never meant to be THE line. The whole reason for having the Maginot Line was to hold up the German advance for three weeks so as to give time for the French reserves to mobilize and prepare for a counter-attack. Huntziger pretty much made that plan impossible by his actions during the first four or five days of the war.

The below video gives a decent blow-by-blow account of the events which led to the French collapse in France. Huntzinger was a freaking dumb arse. All fault lies with the French high command.
