I'm too cheap for a fancy phone, I have Internet at home, don't wanna pay for data plans so I can look at The Internet on my phone.

Anything I need to look at online can wait till I get home

Looks like you need to stop by an atm and make a quick deposit

Does your wife go without a smart phone as well?

Eta: I just sent her a message asking

You need to stop being a cheap arse.

You can get one of the third party pre paid type data plan for cheap as shite these days. No reason to be hard headed.

I can count maybe 3 or 4 times I've had to go into a bank during business hours in the last year. All my checks are direct deposit, I have internet banking to transfer money into different accounts, I have atms if I need cash.

I've boycotted the smart phone this long, if I got one now I would feel like I lost the war.

ok that's what I figured... It's all about the principle of being hard headed now

What a shame what a guy will let a little pride keep them from

I've had this conversation many times, here's my reasons for NOT having smartphone

1. Price
2. They are too big
3. I don't like the idea of apple making a new phone and the consumers rushing out to buy it. I like to make my own decisions about my money, not apple
4. I see people all the time obsessed with their phone. I see a couple on a date at a restaurant, both are playing with phone. Basically each person is on a date with a phone. I don't want to be that guy
EDITED
5. Every smartphone I've seen has some huge arse crack in the screen. I can drop my cheap phone 100 times without a scratch

You can get them fairly cheap
You don't have to get a big one
You don't have to be the consumer running after the newest model every 6 months.
You don't have to be staring at your phone all day if you choose not to.

Only thing that makes any sense is if you don't want to spend any money on one. But like I said everyone should have one in my opinion. They are very handy and worth more than they cost monetarily.

I think my local bank hours are 10-2....with a two hour lunch break.

They don't push themselves very much in retail banking. I'm glad we depend on them less and less.

I get 1, 2, and 4, but 3 doesn't apply if you're not forced into buying a new phone. And I don't believe anyone is.

When I'm at work I litteraly don't have 5 minutes of downtime to browse the web. So when I go home I have Internet. Why would I pay for Internet on a phone I can never use
