I had the surgery several years ago and had no complications but I am probably younger than most who have had it.

Yes it sucked.
My eyesight 15 years later is finally back to where I had the surgery when I was 20.
Sleeping off the edge of the bed was the worst part of it

Had it to happen after two cataract surgeries. Retina was torn and detached,
Doc told me he would try his best. After surgery he told me no matter what the follow up docs said keep your head down for 7 days. BTW that gas bubble is a stint to hold up the repair, Few years later with corrective lenses I am at 20/20, Keep your head down it is only a few days! God is good all the time!!
