No, we just have this false idea that because the president of the United states is black that he is supposed to help us above all other people.

He's the president of the United states, not just the president of black Americas.

Too many of us fell for this false narrative where he'd be our savior if we voted for him (blacks vote blue regardless of color).

We put him up on a pedastel too high for him to reach. He's done an admirable job for culturally for us though. Black boys and girls can now be instilled with a greater sense of accomplishment and patriotism. If he can become president, than anyone shluld be able to achieve their dreams

I mean you point to a litany of things. His campaign, his speeches, parts of the media, etc.

Perhaps we got our hopes too high but he's a politican at the end of the day so we should have known better.

I do love how it seems like he and holder will leave a legacy of improvements in our civil rights.

I've been following current events (NSA, police shootings, etc) and disagree with this. I suppose someone with a strong cognitive bias could lead someone to believe that statement to be true.

Nothing has changed.

Cecil, they brought it upon themselves. frick you. I grew up around poor whites in Alabama and there was no crime, no thugs, no violence.. Just hard working people who treated others with kindness and respect. So again frick you, this is their own fricking doing.

you want the honest, unbiased, truth about the whole racial issue? Man being created equally, and equality are two separate issues.

Everyone is equal in that they deserve the same respect and opportunities. Those two things have to be earned though.

"Civil rights activists" degrade respect and hard work by using race to victimize is constituents. Crime causes victims not race. Race should be something youre proud of. People like Al and Jesse only stir the pot if there is big $$ involved (Fact). If civil rights activist gave two shites about black lives, blue lives, white lives, purple lives, they'd protest every time someone got killed. someone gets shot in BR every 3-4 days. yet we only riot when its between two races. That in itself is racism. If you fail to understand that, then you're either a racist yourself, or you dont know what racism is. I grew up a minority, and I am OT impoverished, yet, I go to work, do a good job, and stay out of trouble. I also have two parents who taught me that nothing is given to you.

You want to hate on someone, hate on the government for rewarding people to have kids with anyone and everyone. If government were smart, they'd issue the stipends on for every school year that their child has successfully completed. Thats a start to fixing this shite storm we got going on now.

Many of my buddies with JDs and other graduate degrees ventured out to the protests.

This just isn't a poor AA thing.
