I would buy the Steelers - if the Rooneys wouldn't sell, I'd settle for the Saints.
It would be an NFL team, though, because the NFL is just way better and cooler all around that UFC, NBA or NHL. JMHO.
In fact, my second place might be a MLB team, over NBA or NHL. I'm from the rural south. Our sports were football, baseball, then basketball a distant third.

I would buy the baseball Cardinals and revamp their marketing to make them even douchier.

I'd say Barcelona and Real Madrid are more valuable. The Lakers come in after those two with probably the Cowboys and Yankees, with teams like Manchester United, Dodgers, Bayern Munich, and the Knicks right behind them.
Basketball isn't going anywhere. Who knows how much longer the UFC will be popular. It's more likely to decrease value over the next 10 years than gain.
The smart places to put your money would be Soccer and Basketball, not football and UFC.
I agree 100% with you on the Lakers and ufc. Disagree on football though. The broncos would be my second choice behind the lakers.
Wouldn't be interested in ufc for all the reasons U mentioned
