Richard III is another who falls in that category. He was an able, experienced leader. Brave in battle. Shakespeare and the Tudors made sure he is remembered badly. Of course there was that murder of the princes thing.

Shakespeare also did a hatchet job on Macbeth.

Few presidents wouldn't fall into that category (and it's a genuine shame too)
