Maverick- you grew up with no welfare, in any form coming into the house? What about college, you paid for it all out of pocket? No scholarships, grants, nothing? FWIW I am white and had some of each.

How is it that people who grow up in poverty can make the decision that they want to better their lives for themselves and their families and make that change in one generation, but you feel as if the black community needs 100s of years to become equal or fulfilled?
