Maverick- you grew up with no welfare, in any form coming into the house? What about college, you paid for it all out of pocket? No scholarships, grants, nothing? FWIW I am white and had some of each.

You seem like a smart person, a perfect example of what MLK envisioned. However, your pipe dream of building a parallel society is a delusion. Remember, we are inextricably bound. For you to question the intelligence of a charismatic leader who's words stand the test of time demonstrates your fallacy of character.

So you don't think there are rallies, marches, and protests all over the country about this? There are. Unfortunately, the media does not report on it, except very locally and briefly.

So they are too busy with their liberal agenda?

Congrats on your normal encounter with a normal person.

If only it were so simple.

Normal people are comprised of every race. They are not the issue.

Thanks for the anecdote.

More white slaves than black.
More Chinese slaves than black.
Every other country in the 1800s received MORE BLACK slaves than America.
45 MILLION slaves exist TODAY.

You finished yet?

Black culture PROMOTES LAZINESS.

Good for you and everyone you know who have made it. Seriously - nicely done. But the few people you know pale drastically in comparison with the sheer volume of this country. And the numbers speak --- and speak clearly.

The government and every single municipality is set up to FAVOR MINORITIES.
Stuff white privilege in a sack, and set it on fire. Minority privilege IS REAL -- and PROVABLE. Has anyone been able to identify white privilege with white paper policy or empirical evidence??

PRETTY frickING EASY TO PROVE THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!!!!

How many different type of minorities in this country? Why is the 3rd largest % of the population the one that has the most problems, needs the most help, and bitches the most?

I have read the entire thread and can understand and appreciate both sides of this terrible issue, I believe racism can and will be addressed at the point that ALL people treat each other at the most common and basic level, that is we are all human beings and as such deserve to be treated and treat others with the same respect that all human beings deserve; come on folks, "we are the world, we are the children..."

How is it that people who grow up in poverty can make the decision that they want to better their lives for themselves and their families and make that change in one generation, but you feel as if the black community needs 100s of years to become equal or fulfilled? That's the biggest bullshite I've ever heard. It is being used as an excuse for everything that goes wrong in life when it has little to do with the plight of the current generation. How does slavery impact African Americans in 2016? When will enough be enough? Do you want every black person to be paid reparations from the government or from people who had nothing to do with slavery? Should we go frick up the Egyptians for enslaving the Jews or go after present day Germans because of the holocaust?
