re: When's the last time you had a terrifying, monster will eat you, nightmare

I had a sleep paralysis incident I guess it was a year and a half ago or so if that counts. I felt pretty intense fear and it felt like there was a tall figure standing over me at the foot of my bed. Other than that the last nightmare that I can remember was from when I was about 6 or 7 I think.

Never had one of those dreams but I have had dreams where I have been shot. It is crazy how real dreams can get.

I don't typically have nightmares or at least I don't remember them. I do often have dreams where I'm in some kind of battle and whatever weapon I'm using won't work. Usually it's a gun that won't fire. Probably something about erectile disfunction!

Last night I did have a vivid dream that was disturbing. It was basically out of The Walking Dead, but the only person in the dream from the show was Neegan. My group consisted of people I've known through my life, mostly from high school era. In the dream, we knew that two of us were going to get our skulls caved in. It wasn't like the scene from the show. We were in a camp and the "event" would occur later that day. That built up the dread.

The details are probably boring, but there were a few moments where I thought I was going to be one of them. To the point that I had my hands tied behind my back and I was on my knees. Then my head was pushed forward like when someone was beheaded and Neegan was taunting me and tapping the bat on my head.

Eventually they drew numbers for the two victims. Somehow I missed the first one because I was taken away for a minute. All I saw was the splatter from the scene with no body. Then they drew the next number and it was my best friend. Long drawn out process and I watched him graphically get his head bashed in. Hard to describe, but it was one of the most vivid dreams I had. By this time of day, I've usually forgotten any details on dreams I had but I can still remember this fairly clearly. Probably because it was the dream I was having when the alarm went off.

Full disclosure, I've been taking Melatonin at night. It helps me fall asleep and I have more frequent vivid dreams. Usually they are fun dreams!

I had this IRL nightmarish encounter with a chubby when she spread her legs for me to get in there. The nether region had hair the width of a catcher's mitt and a gaping cavernous maw that frightened me as much as meeting a bear in a cave. I whimpered and bailed...... whew!
