I attended Creighton 87-91. It is a fairly liberal Jesuit university. Excellent pre-health school (medicine, pharmacy, dental). It also has an excellent business school. Like many catholic schools, it is not in a particularly nice part of Omaha (although currently much better than in the 80s).
Overall it is a second tier catholic school. Georgetown, Notre Dame, Boston College, Villanova, Holy Cross would all be considered tier 1 schools.
It is definitely not a conservative school. For example, in my day there was supposedly an atheist Jesuit who was a philosophy teacher.
Thanks for educating me on that. Just goes to show how different things can seem from afar.

When I was in college our premed advisor encouraged people to apply to Creighton because he said it was the easiest allopathic med school to get in in the US (I have no clue if that is true). Maybe because it’s expensive and in Nebraska? IDK.
I didn’t apply for med school there.
I did interview for residency there and like it. The school was getting out of the hospital business (and turning the hospital into dorms). So the residencies were moving to other hospitals in town. Overall, I liked it and thought Omaha looked like a decent place to live. Now I was kinda worried what February would be like because I interviewed on a nice 50 degree sunny fall day.

Catholic college in Omaha with a solid basketball program built off white guys. Decent in baseball every now and then.
That’s it.
That’s it.

People that get fired up about a possible high seed in the NCAA tournament every several years

I don't think about Creighton.
