Not trying to minimize it, but you’re exaggerating or you misunderstood. You wouldn’t survive 2 minutes much less two hours. I’ve had about 3.5 cups of fluid in one lung and couldn’t breathe at all. So I feel for ya.
At the time I was a touch more concerned with breathing and spitting up blood. I just know they did an Xray at the small hospital where I live and it showed both lungs were covered by the white cloudy substance. By the time I made it to the main hospital the oxygen saturation was under 70.

Out as a contractor at a chemical plant. Had to use a boom lift to collect an asbestos sample. One of the boom lifts with the articulating baskets. Plant rules wouldn’t let a contractor operate their equipment. I got a lady operator that was trained 3 days before my visit. Fully extended at about 40 feet, she tried to feather the joystick unsuccessfully. I was tied off to the basket, but I bounced up above the rail and hit a steam pipe and landed back in the basket. My hard hat and knife went flying down to the ground.
frick that. I told her that I was done and that they’d need to find someone else to get that sample. They brought another guy over there. I gave him instructions and my sampling tools and he got the sample.

Once in college I was walking home from my last class of the day and it was lightly raining so I was in a rush.
I stepped off a curb near an intersection to start across a road and as I was crossing the turn lane I heard the loud screeching of tires and looked over to see a truck had managed to slam on brakes and miss me by maybe 2 feet.
It was actually a university service truck, guy driving it had both his hands on a death grip on the steering wheel and looked white as a ghost.
I was actually more embarrassed than anything and sorta sheepishly waved and finished crossing.
That guy probably still tells people the story about the dumbass kid that ran out in the road he almost hit.

I am a pretty good open water swimmer, multiple Ironman (2.4 miles), well over a dozen Half Ironman (1.2 mile swim) and not just in lakes as a few of these were in rough, choppy water in the Gulf of America, Caribbean Sea, Indian Ocean, etc.
Anyway, I ended up in the 17th street canal once while playing in a volleyball tournament at Coconut Beach trying to help some kids who tried to take a Kayak out into the gulf on a windy day with like 3' chop. Kid was panicking and getting pulled out into the Gulf and the Coast Guard was called but I jumped in off the bridge to try to get him a life jacket and before I knew it I was getting sucked out to the gulf myself.
I didn't start to panic at first just figuring it would take me a while to swim back to the bank but I was not getting any closer and before I knew it I was passing underneath the bridge. I just kept thinking the coast guard is close, just stay afloat.
Thankfully there was enough people around watching and one of them had cut one of the crab traps that had been hanging from the bridge and moved it so I could grap the rope and I went by. I couldnt hear shite but I saw it and knew what they were doing.
I was able to grab the rope and get pulled back to the bank and seconds later the coast guard showed up and saved the kid.
At the time, I wasnt very scared but minutes later, seeing how terrified my wife was, the reality hit me how close it was to being the end.
