GreyWhiskers trying to clap his ex’s cheeks now that the husband is out of the picture. Nice.

His wife sounds like a bitch.

your newly single and emotionally vulnerable ex

I'm sure his ex-wife is definitely sitting at the funeral of her husband and thinking, I'm single now, who's bones can I jump here?

Or, she has been given a reason to question OPs relationship boundaries with his ex. For example:

quote:

my ex has more going for her sexually than my current wife

It's not about what his ex wife thinks, it's about what he and his current wife think. Clearly, he avoided telling her for a reason.

I decided not to read all the responses because it’s not necessary. Death is final. That’s the last chance you’ll get to actually see him. I don’t think you did anything wrong.

She is a pretty awful person if you are paying respects to a person that passed away

Why didn’t you just tell her that you felt you needed to go to support your company co-workers and you would appreciate if she came along to prevent it being awkward with the ex?

Going to a funeral is an issue with your wife? She's got problems.

ETA: if her problem is with your lie, then it is understandable. Otherwise, no adult should have a problem with their significant other paying respects.

What’s the issue ? You are in for a long journey if she has any issues here.
