It’s an act of god wtf. To prevent loss of life don’t live near a river if you’re scared. Go live in the Mojave desert then oh wait now you’re in danger some other way. There’s no escape from life

At the most basic level, choosing to live on or adjacent to the banks of a river creek or bayou means that at some point in time, that body of water is going to run through or over your house.
