I think your $4 shipping cost average is really low for 2 day shipping (and I still get nearly everything I ordered within the 2 day promise). My Prime membership easily pays for itself in free shipping and convenience many times over in a year. Hell, I can sit on the couch for an hour and wrap up Christmas shopping for my 6 year old and 2 year old, nieces and nephews, etc. That transaction alone is worth $119 in saved time and shipping costs to me. $119 is basically nothing over the course of a year if you use the service at all. It is still the king and others are desperately trying to figure out how to make it work.
