If it’s cheaper than my current policy

I am not telling people "not to switch". But switching for small savings is counterproductive. You are costing yourself money by not waiting for 2 or 3 years at a minimum.
I see your point, and should have said “not in all cases” instead of “incorrect”
And, I’ll add the loyalty discounts sometimes are still higher, sometimes significantly higher, than provider premiums for new customers.

There is no such thing as a loyalty discount in Georgia.
The closest thing is having a speeding ticket or claim and your current policy becomes significantly cheaper than a new one with another company.
Or, you might be grandfathered in on a policy option that has been closed for new business. This happens often for home insurance where insurance companies continuously strip coverages away on new policies going forward (an example is guaranteed full roof replacement for wind/hail regardless of age. Going forward, most companies apply Actual Cash Value at a specific age of roof or a Roof Payment Schedule. The other example is flat deductibles where a lot of newer policies may require a 1/2% or 1% deductible).
