It's really just selfish not to pull up, even though it's hypocritical of drive thrus to ask it.

....

I pull up, but let’s not sweep what is happening under the rug.

You are “selfishly” not allowing them (on site manager) to lie to their bosses about the awesome and prompt service they provide. They even get complicated orders out in less than 2 min!

Oh and another thing. They all should have an app like CFA. Order when I leave the house or work. Tap prepare my order when I walk in or tell them at the drive thru I have a mobile order. Food is out in maybe 3 minutes. Don’t have to deal with handing them cash or a card. It’s just sad that one company has it so figured out and the rest have average at best service.

Years ago, I talked to one of the VPs for a company out of Florida that owns the popeyes in my home town. He told me that he didn't know that they were tricking their systems by making customers pull up.

He asked me to tell them that I wouldn't pull up and drop the name of their area manager.

I told him there was no fricking way that I was not pulling up at that ghetto pos.

This.

Stopped at the BK in Slidell one day and just ordered a Whopper meal. Nothing fancy. Paid at the first window and pulled up. Got to the second window and she immediately asked me to pull forward. I was the only person there. Not the only person in the drive thru... the only person AT BURGER KING. I said "No thats ok, I can just wait here". She told me to pull forward again and I told her that I was fine and I would pull forward if someone pulled up behind me". That apparently was not what she wanted to hear because she huffed, rolled her eyes, then said "Man you're fricking up my timer." and slammed the window. Less than 15 seconds later, my food was done. I laughed and shook my head as she handed it to me and left.

Did not eat it

Do your job right and earn it, don't just ask for it to be handed to you. But I guess that's how things work nowadays.

Because it’s not about keeping the flow going and stopping one order from backlogging anyone.

It’s just so they can click done and claim they finished the order is just as much time as it took to drive from the menu and process the card.

It’s why my earlier post of calling staying put “selfish” is hilariously disingenuous.
