Once had an egg hunt in our house the mid '70s because of rain. Couldn't account for one egg. A week later, house started to smell and we were turning nearly everything over to find it. Finally found it in a copper kettle tucked away in the bottom cabinets of the kitchen/dining area.

Hell, growing up, our eggs were sometimes so well hidden, you wouldn't find them till the following Fall when you were outside messing around.
My GF's dad found a plastic egg in his ivy a few years ago when replacing his fence that must have been 20 yrs old
