Servicemembers receive BAH that's generally more than adequate for a given housing market. And deployed folks are earning money tax-free, receiving imminent danger pay and other allowances, and spending pretty much jack shite on themselves. Those with families back home also receive family separation allowance.

In other words, you should be financially better off on and immediately following deployment than at any other point in your career.

Pay your bills. I saved like $40K in two years in Bahrain, and we actually had alcohol and booze and clubs and shite. And I paid off like $20K in debt. Now if he had a wife who was fricking around and spending his money on Jody, seems like he should have picked a better wife. Don't know how that one's on the bank.

That 25% includes reservists and guards.

A little misleading.

I will play devil's advocate here:

What if this guy is a reservist and makes considerably more in his civilian job and was mobilized, during mobilization he was receiving only military pay because his civilian employer does not match. That could be pretty damning

I agree. he should pay his bills

Pay your bills you don't get foreclosed on. VA Loans are some of the hardest to get foreclosed so if it happened this guy has gone above and beyond in his negligence.
