Didn't have one until I was about 13-14

It was a black and white 13"

We were a Magnavox family.

Only buy or think of buying a Magnavox.

Screen was about 19 inches and the console took up one whole wall of the living room. Ch 9,2 and 33. Had to go outside and mess with the antenna sometimes to get 33. The antennas were on everyone's roof and some wire ran into the house.

I wouldn't be able to see what was on the screen if I had to watch something like that again. Back then it was the best thing ever

RCA 25" Color Trac

I was the the remote..




Then Daddy Pops stepped up to this. First TV we had with a remote.. Pops was a huge RCA fan



Had this bad boy in my room though...

Sears console TV with instant on. I was amazed at how the minute you pressed the power button the image appeared.
Not sure who actually made the TV.

I do NOT miss CRT tv's.

Parents got this Zenith model TV in the early 90’s:



Then in 1998 they bought a larger Sony tv like this:



Then in 2005 or 2006 they got a Samsung like this:




Those are the 3 TVs that we had in my family while growing up.

That was my first flat screen TV purchase. It just died a few months ago. 37"LCD..It was $1999 in '06...

Yeah TVs like that used to be crazy expensive. TVs have gotten so cheap now.

i was probably 14-15 before we had a color tv. that was a big deal back then.

My grandparents had a Dumont 8" tv in 1940s. We got NYC from Hempstead l.i.


My parents got one in 1950. Admiral. 21". We kept until 1961. Color!!

Pretty much like that one, B/W. It sat on top a big console color TV that didn't work anymore, but was too damned big and heavy to move.
