Are we talking about being a regular uncle or the kind of uncle who goes around giving easy women money in exchange for coochie since their baby daddies are deadbeats?
I am just a regular uncle and it is awesome. I get to do all the fun stuff with my niece and nephew and then leave when they start getting to be too much to handle. I am not the second kind of uncle but I guess the advantages of the second kind would be the joy of knowing that you helped a woman and her child stay out of the cold. The downside of that kind of uncle would have to be catching STDs from those easy women.
