Have you ever been to or known anyone from Africa?

My dad’s family sponsored a guy to come over every summer when he was growing up. He was smart, friendly and funny apparently.

He got a degree over here, went back to the Congo to try to be a doctor in his city.

They’d write letters and send pictures and talk about progress.

Then all the sudden the letters stopped. A new government took over and they were told never to write him again.

A year later they get a rushed letter… apparently they liquidated all the educated people to prevent anyone from pushing back against the new dictator.

TLDR: Africans can be great people but Africa itself is bat**** crazy and impossible to make logical sense of.
