Wednesday Night Wrestling Wars Thread: TakeOver Night 1 Edition

It seems that... just like with Wrestlemania moving to 2 nights... the matches that would've comprised NXT TakeOver: Tampa Bay are being divvied up over the next 2 weeks of regular NXT on USA programming... starting with tonight
But first, like usual... AEW Dynamite... and a big change coming for Dynamite, if not tonight then very soon, as the parking lot for Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Fla. has been taken over by government officials for COVID-19 testing... forcing AEW to move its tapings to the home of wrestling greats like the Ultimate Warrior, The Destroyer, Giant Gonzalez, & Papa Shango... Parts Unknown... though I believe tonight's episode will be fully in Daily's Place
Kenny Omega battles Trent Beretta
The Murderhawk Monster Lance Archer makes his AEW in-ring debut... surely against a jobber
AEW reveals the last 4 competitors... who are in the bottom half of the bracket... in the tournament to crown the 1st ever AEW TNT Champion
The competitors in the top half of the TNT Title bracket do battle in a tag team match tonight as Cody & Darby Allin team up to take on Shawn Spears & The Spanish God Sammy Guevara

At the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fla., NXT on USA has what amounts to night 1 of TakeOver: Tampa Bay... at least with the main event

Who will be the 6th & final competitor into the Ladder Match to determine the #1 Contender for the NXT Women's Championship? The losers of the previous 5 qualifying matches do battle in a gauntlet match... Dakota Kai, Xia Li, Shotzi Blackheart, Kayden Carter, Aliyah, & Deonna Purrazzo (yes that's 6... Aliyah lost a match while Li was beaten up backstage prior to her match last week against Aliyah)
Velveteen Dream battles Bobby Fish as Dream tries to get into a match with Adam Cole for the NXT Championship

AEW supposedly taped a bunch of extra stuff last week, including a title match between Moxley and Hager. Who knows when we'll see that stuff. The Darby Allin vs Kip Sabian match last week was also taped. I imagine some, if not all, of the show tonight will not be live.

I don’t understand why they are having Omega and Trent wrestling. It’s a match no one has asked for.
Cody should not be in the low card tournament. He doesn’t need to be there. He main events with no belt needed. Cody is Cody. You’re watching. Jungle Express minus the short kid should be here. Have Lucha face Hagar. We want that match. Have Jungle face Butcher or Blade & overcome adversity.

he's using his name to try and build up others...and probably in this case... also build up the new championship
I don't think AEW is going to want to see it as a "low card" title... but rather a mid-card belt and someone who ultimately will be a viable world title contender
ETA: no... I don't believe Cody will be the 1st AEW TNT Champion

oh... I need to send an apology to Austin Theory
apparently Theory was out of position for that dive by Montez Ford on Monday's Raw b/c that dive was never supposed to happen
Rollins was supposed to hook Ford's foot and trip him... but Seth was late and Ford decided to just roll with it and do the flip instead of "cut, do the spot again"
