I had an emergency MRI a while back and those dumbasses didn't empty my pockets which contained keys and a pocket knife. Fortunately stainless steel and brass is non-magnetic.
The construction of the room is a PITA also. Most manufacturers specify no magnetic material in the walls/floor and a shielding material (often copper) lining the room. So it's wood studs, wood subfloor, plastic conduit, aluminum electrical boxes, copper drywall screws, copper shielding, etc.

I know a kid from high school that had one (not a kid anymore) He had had reconstructive ankle surgery. The machine ripped his ankle apart, and he sued the shite of the hospital.
