Snip of Russo while at WWF:

So, Russo pretty much had a cup of coffee in the WWF, where he had a few good ideas and took credit for everything else. He then followed that up by bankrupting the most well-funded wrestling company in the history of the world and then he destroys Vince McMahon’s only competition to the point that a lot of people in TNA at points in time thought that Vince McMahon was still paying Vince Russo to not come back to the WWF…”

Wcw wasn't creating/putting out new talent. Except for a handful. It was the same folks passing the belt around to each other basically.

Allowing talentless hack Kevin Nash to be the head booker was a death knell.

People talk about how revolutionary WCW was but the Attitude era is what changed wrestling forever
No one talked about WCW being revolutionary. ECW was the innovator, WCW and WWF both copied and raided talent.
Competition is good for business, complacency sets in without it. If ECW had legit business people running the administrative side of it instead of coked out Paul Heyman and in ring workers that couldn't read balance sheets trying to swing PPV deals and TV contracts they could have put WCW under on their own. Heyman didn't treat guys fairly and they took the guaranteed money from the big boys.
WWF simply had the dollars to ride out lean times and invest in talent splurges and since they were behind they had more incentive to take risks on younger guys to steal eyeballs.

"Storylines" lol ...delivery and talent were everything. It's why he couldn't do anything in wcw or tna. Vince was A filter to Russo. 75% of russos crap was exactly that.
Steve, Shawn and Rocky had amazing Mic skills and ring presence. Foley was a great speaker as well and wasn't afraid to make up for what he didn't have with sacrificing himself.
Six wwf guys owned all wcw had to offer.
I always like Scott Hall though, the character of Razor cracked me up. I wish he could get control of his life.

I miss DDP and his diamondcutter. He would hit it so smoothly from any angle.

I could believe it. Never seen something that cool original and cutting edge go to shite so quicky.

What is the wwe network library looking like? Was wanting to rewatch raw from like 1995-1999
Posted on 8/17/14 at 5:46 pm to SEClint
They have every episode up to the end of 1995 and 2012 to present. A few episodes in each of the other years.
Every Saturday Night Main Event and Clash of the Champions, though. Those have been relatively recent additions.

I've heard something similar before. That Russo worked in the WWF so well because he'd come up with ideas but had to go through the Vince McMahon filter. In WCW there was no filter.
I know the WWF/E also has a history of coming up with some incredibly stupid ideas but didn't WCW create a Gene Simmons KISS character?

Once the NWO became too big for it's own good (Wolfpac/White & Black) and it started letting anyone in is when the WCW crumbled. NWO was no longer "cool" and they even tried to branch off into their own product.
