I can always tell who is fishing when they call my office, ask if we are hiring, I usually say no, then they ask to get my name.

would it be so difficult for a manager to take 5 minutes of his day to grab a tablet and ask him the information needed and fill it out for him like the old process used to be. I bet in that 5 minutes of acquiring information from the man, the manager would have a better feel for the person's character than any words on a resume could tell you.
