I think the point he's making is people are bad at LSU sometimes. I have a buddy who used to like LSU but hates them now because he went to SU and people harass and belittle southern at every chance. It turns people off that no one can be proud of their success without an LSU fan trying to tear them down and belittle them. It's kinda annoying when you're celebrating a win and an LSU fan comes and pisses on the party. Again not every LSU fan does this but some do.

throwing bottles at opposing team bus?
spilling drinks all over everyone around them in the stadium?

No it isn't. Not as long as UL-Laf insists on being called UL (adjacent state law I might add).
There already is a major college program known as UL. If you want your own unique Identity the last thing you do is try to grab university initials that are already nationally recognized.
But even that simple concept can't seem to be grasped by "THE University of " Louisiana" fans.
Change your name to University of Acadiana or something. It fits perfectly. And it's not like you guys aren't used to changing your names every couple a decades anyway.

I really don't see how that has any effect on how we treat travelling fans, but OK.

Did you miss the part where I said I was an LSU fan as well? I've seen both fanbases and can tell you both have great people and both have absolute a holes. You're acting like LSU is all little angels which is simply false.
