You could absolutely bathe in distillate or CBD oil and nothing in this article would happen

They don't call things like shatter, oil, wax, etc... hash at dispensaries. While all of them are concentrates, there's a different extraction method. Old school hash still has a lot of organic matter, and was usually about 25-30%. Even kief (the crystals on the flower that contains the, is weak compared to modern concentrates.
