This is an Tamiya M4A3 and a AFV Club British Scimitar I currently have on the bench. Both of these are in the painting stages.

Thanks.

Holy hell!
Do you ever put these in contests?

No, I'm not a good enough builder or painter at this point to compete with the stuff you see in contests. There are multiple flaws with both of these that would prevent them from being competitive. That said, I'm happy with them.
I was out of the hobby for a few years, and Vaders posts motivated me to start again.

I disagree. I follow IPMS shows. You have the skills to compete.

Thank you, I appreciate your kind words.

No idea why you're getting downvotes. It takes a ton of patience and years of work to get that good at building and painting realistic looking plastic models.

I find it interesting that this thing was diesel powered while German tanks were gassers.
Another example of the Krauts making things more difficult for themselves. Needed to supply multiple fuel types to the front.

That’s a fun build from what I remember. You’ve done a great job on yours. I built one about six or seven years ago, or their abouts.

My MIL gave me this same kit again this past Christmas. It’s in the stash so I’ll get around to it at some point in the future.

A build board is much needed!

That would be awesome.

As an alternative to a build board, there is a modeling board that I hang out on, and there are some great builds and builders.

I have Scimitar in my stash. How was the build?

Awesome, I'm Chromdome35...very original eh?

It was not a hard build, mine had some resin and photo etch which weren't difficult to use. Some of the fit was a bit loose, but otherwise it went together pretty easily.

At least you will be easy to find. I tried using Darth_Vader but it said that username is invalid.

For those wondering how these are made, this is the progression of a build.
The early stages consist of fitting the parts and filling in gaps with modeling putty. This is followed by cleaning up everything and making the model ready for painting.
This is what it looks like after primer and the base coat is applied via airbrush. I decided to add some stowage to the model so I made a couple of rolled tarps and a barrel shroud.
At this point, the primary painting is done, and the focus is on painting the details. All painting from this point forward is by hand.
After the details are painted, a dark brown pin wash is applied to the panel lines and the details. A pin wash increases the contrast and makes the monochromatic details stand out better.
The next step is to weather the model. This step uses oil paint to fade the colors on the panels and begin to add depth to the various panels on the vehicle. Additional contrast is added to the details and everything is blended together to achieve smooth gradients as you can see here on the hood.
The model is getting close to completion at this point, once I'm done weathering, I will focus on weathering the running gear. After that it will be complete.
