This shows a shocking lack of understanding of child rearing. No, it is never okay to be an absentee father unless you have no choice. Children without a father inspiring confidence in them end up unhappy a disproportionately high percentage of times. Absentee fathers in early childhood correlates to depression and low self-esteem. There is no amount of money in the world that can make up for that.
