All Crane Rental in Geismar selected by Landrieu to remove Monuments
It's a crane rental company. The state is renting cranes from them. All crane does not own the job.

Just providing information about the contractor removing the monuments.

This is a good move. It will probably be ironworkers doing the rigging, not landscapers and grass cutters. I was wondering how a grass cutting company was awarded the contract in the first place.

Why are you trying to frick with someone's business?

Blame your elected officials not the people trying to earn a living

Don't give a shite. They could refuse to rent their cranes to anyone associated with that project. They are providing the assistance needed so they are part of the problem.

Ain't no body turning a weeks rent on a crane these days

Especially given they might score some service work out of it

This has to be a Top Five Non-Football Melt. I have no dog in this hunt. Not my city. Not my monuments. Don't give a shite if they are up or down. Not a single frick given. But I SO love watching most of you losing your minds over this. It's fricking awesome!

Oh, and I'll go ahead and start off with the first downvote.

Just pointing out what NOLA.com pointed out about the contractor removing the monuments with some links to their site, facebook, yelp, and corporate headquarters in case people are interested in learning more about the process.

They're even trying to incite violence against a crane rental company.

I have worked several turnarounds at refineries in Canton, Toledo, and Lima, Ohio. All Crane is a union contractor and supplied the crane operators and riggers on the projects. When companies supply expensive equipment, they generally supply the manpower also, just to guarantee the equipment is not abused. You would be surprised how quickly skilled union labor can get those unsightly monuments off their perch and hauled away.

All of this just seems like posturing for future political advancement on Mitch's side.

Well, there's a definite upside for the City... it won't be pathetically associating itself with those losers any more. A stigma will be removed.
