Once all is said and done, this baw may have killed hundreds. They have known there was a trucker SK for decades. Over the next year, many more will be attributed to him.
My understanding is that they believe there are several (five to ten or more) trucker serial killers operating at any one time.
It's both an ideal environment for a serial killer, and just by sheer population numbers (there are several million truckers in the U.S., the great majority of which are working-age men), it will be true.

Yeah, there was a docu-series on A&E a few years ago called The Killing Season, I believe. They started out investigating the Long Island Serial Killer (LISK) and continued following different leads throughout the country. They wound up going to Atlantic City, Daytona Beach, and somewhere out west—I think Albuquerque. No idea where you can find it, and it’s got a pretty unsatisfying ending. But it’s worth a watch if only for German amateur detective Peter Brandt—that dude was wild and very well may be a serial killer himself.
Anyway, I can’t remember how they were introduced to this particular guy, but they wound up talking to a convicted serial on the phone from prison. He was a truck driver and said you would not believe how many truck drivers are out there doing all kinds of heinous shite. He said that they would somehow find each other (I guess like pedos tend to do) and talk in code over the CB, saying what they were hauling (i.e sex slaves—girl or boy, age, etc...), where they were heading, and sometimes meet up and swap. He said Oklahoma City was a huge hub because I-35 and I-40 intersect there. He came across as pretty genuine and matter of fact, not like he was exaggerating for any kind attention or anything. It was pretty fricking terrifying.

They do this to distinguish them from every other Clark Baldwin, for the sake of those Clark Baldwins.
I had an old high school friend named Brandon Scott Lavergne, but not the same BSL that killed Mickey Shunick. He and his family were harassed non-stop for weeks when BSL's name first surfaced.
