We have a family friend that does this too. It's fricking Houston, not Glasgow.
Yeah, I don't get it. Hot sauce isn't seasoning, it's flavor killer. I feel the same way about people that immediately reach for the salt shaker without tasting the food first. You know, it just might be properly seasoned already.

Matters in every single country every single day. People who think it doesn’t play a role in how things play out for them they are ignorant.
I always get treated with respect everywhere I go just by putting 20 minutes of effort into appearance each day. I hired someone whose job it is to assist employees and help with logistics. I had an expectation that he looked presentable for the job. I provided him with a new professional wardrobe. Suits, slacks, dress and casual dress shoes, polo shirts, crisp pullovers, nice jackets/overcoats. About a year into the job the guy told me he has never been treated so nicely by the public in his life. People would go the extra mile to help him. Everyone is cordial and gives the benefit of the doubt. He never experienced it before.
Unfortunately a large portion of American society struggles with this concept and mindset. Instead they have to have protests, Karen incidents, and riots as an attempt to get respect.
