Your alleged motive doesn't really make sense

Wouldn't his best bet for your cell phone video of him speeding not coming to light be to just drive away and never interact with you again???

As they are passing, you begin recording the trooper speeding with your cell phone, verifying the high rate of speed with your own speedometer.

Why in the hell would you do that? You earned that ticket. Congratulations!

How old are you? This has got to be some zoomer thing just so you could post it to social media. Why would you care if a cop is speeding? They know they don’t have to follow the rules

No. As stated before, the trooper has just finished another traffic stop when I passed, then trooper caught up to me doing 90 plus without lights on and was clearly not in performance of her duties. Only speeding.

Alabama state trooper. Black female.

Racism aside, troopers need female officers, as many as they can get, for dealing with all the female perps that have to be patted down and dealt with.

there was no racism. Calling a black person black isn't racism. Nor is calling a woman a woman.

I didn't receive a ticket for videoing a trooper. Try to keep up.

Following too close was the ticket.

you get roughly 2 to 3 car lengths behind the trooper as you both pass the slower traffic

now we're getting to the good questions. I would estimate 70 to 75 MPH in the left lane, passing an 18 wheeler

motive was evidence of a cop committing traffic violations and filing a complaint with the ALEA.

So you’re admitting that you broke the law

Sounds like case open and shut to me.

that's bc you aren't smart enough to grasp the situation. I did not receive a ticket for speeding. I did not receive a ticket for cell phone usage. Get that thru your head first, then analyze the situation

The ONLY citation was following too close.

You were following too closely.

quote:

2023 Code of Alabama
Title 32 - Motor Vehicles and Traffic.
Chapter 5A - Rules of the Road.
Article 4 - Driving on and Use of Roadways Generally; Overtaking and Passing.
Section 32-5A-89 - Following Too Closely.

(a) The driver of a motor vehicle shall not follow another more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such vehicles and the traffic upon and the condition of the highway. Except when overtaking and passing another vehicle, the driver of a vehicle shall leave a distance of at least 20 feet for each 10 miles per hour of speed between the vehicle that he or she is driving and the vehicle that he or she is following.

By law you should have left at least 140 feet between yourself and the trooper. You said you left 2-3 car lengths.

Regardless of how you feel about the 20 feet per 10 mph metric, I think 2-3 car lengths at 70 mph is pretty objectively too close to make any reasonable argument otherwise.

TL;DR, you’re fricked.
