Has anybody anywhere ever done this on cellphone voicemails?
Suspect it is a ploy to simply by the cell companies to add minutes to the call.

I do it. Not waiting 30 minutes on the phone just for someone to pick-up only to transfer me to someone else. I value my time.

i do it all the time. it the modern day beeper. and its quicker than leaving a voicemail. and its easier to see if you have a smart watch or are in a meeting.
