I'm really not patriotic at all anymore, either. Symbols of the USA don't inspire any sense of pride or affinity in me anymore.

My reasons are probably just about 180 degrees different from hers, and I can't imagine disrespecting any nation's symbols. But I'm not going to sit here and act like I give a shite about the flag or the anthem anymore, because I just don't.

Same here. But I assume anyone who complains about the national anthem shouldn't represent the nation it represents as well.

Big difference in an era where civil rights issues were real as opposed to today’s climate of imagined ones.
