On December 19, 1922, serial bigamist Theresa Vaughn, age 24, confessed in court in Sheffield, England to having been married over 62 times since 1917 in 50 cities in three different countries. She said it was like eating chips, it was so hard to stop after eating the first one. Besides, some of the men were so old when she got married, she had to be a widow a few times over by now. She also said it would have been a crime for her not to get married repeatedly, she just had so much love to share, and she couldn’t just give it away, that would be prostitution, and prostitution is illegal.
