Yes. The Vikings paid to have the heating coils installed after they moved out of the Metrodome.

The field itself will be heated. Players will sit on heated benches in front of massive heaters and rest their helmets on heated poles.

The hardest thing will be for the fans. There's not enough schnapps to keep them warm.

I could be wrong but I think I heard on the radio the field would be heated to the point it would not be frozen.

I don't remember the Ice Bowl (was born the following year).

I definitely remember San Diego freezing their asses off against Cincinnati in the AFC Championship game in 82.

Hockey players play on solid ice outside with the same type of padding on and nobody bats an eye.

Football players do it and OMG WTF ITS TOO COLD WAAAH CONCUSSIONS AND INJURIES WAAAH.

Excellent seats are selling for dirt cheap because no one wants to go sit in that weather.

The NFL would never allow that field to be frozen in this day of player head protection. Even the grass fields have heaters underneath.

Steve Largent on the NFL Network just said it was heated. Also -10 degrees on the field.

That's a set up for an "arctic panic".

8" of clothes on but only 6" of pecker.

Add Cleveland Browns fans to the mix and you're spot on.

When the dome rood collapased due to weight of the snow and ice in December of 2010, they played the Bears at the U of M without a heated field. It was like playing on concrete. They put out a call for volunteers to come out and shovel the stadium.

That's why I don't live up there. I'll take the swamp arse any day over that.
