This reminds me of a friend from elementary school. On spelling tests he would argue with the teachers that an i was an e was an a, and claimed that he got it right.

Now his handwri was awful, but those nuns put him in his place by making him take the spelling tests orally.

There have been a bunch of studies done and dissertations done on this subject. There is a significant difference in the bone and muscle structure of hands, fingers and wrists of men and women. Handwriting is almost universally taught by women who use their hands as built at the factory to write. That does not work in the hands of a man. This is well established and has been well known for years. It is also a big reason boys disconnect from the educational process...because they do not have the physical ability to write like a woman but they are being judged by women who often berate them or otherwise treat them as if they are somehow inferior when in fact they simply can no more write like a woman than a woman can spell her name in the snow...
