Ugh! I guess I’ll have to take the helicopter to Lafayette.

Maybe because "the people in Baton Rouge are arrogant and have to impose themselves on everyone."

It’s almost worth it to just take 90 at Lafayette and go through Morgan City. Yeah it’ll add 45 minutes to the trip but you’re not stuck in traffic. I’ve done this a few times.
This doesn’t help if you need to take I12 though.

The number of vehicles that spontaneously combust alone on that stretch of bridge is worthy of a statistical study.

I'm way more confident driving on the Houston highways on any given day than I would be having to cross the bridge in BR on any given day.

i was going over the bridge at 915 and had to dodge a tire/wheel that had come loose from a wrecked car on a flat bed - it was in the center/left lane. only reason i saw it was because the black suv in front of me hit it, got it stuck under the frame and pushed it for a a few seconds... smoke and sparks from the rim all over the place, then it popped out in front of us sliding flat.

we swerved left and nearly clipped it, then watched cars dodging it behind us in the mirror swerving all over the place. called it in to LSP once my butthole unclenched a few miles up.

bet money that had to have been what caused it.

What until the state reduces the bridge down to one lane in each direction for a few years. It’s going to be awesome

That thing is the Bermuda Triangle of traffic. The number of vehicles that spontaneously combust alone on that stretch of bridge is worthy of a statistical study. Why can't people drive across it in a straight line without plowing into each other?

It’s the road. There’s not enough lanes for that volume of traffic plain and simple. It’s arguably one of the most traveled interstates in the USA and it forces everyone to remain in two lanes then merge down to one lane. It’s pure stupid engineering and lack of future planning decades ago.

Drive any other stretch of 10. I promise you there are not 2 lanes with no service roads for local traffic to use. 10 in Louisiana forces all local plus passing through traffic to be in two narrow lanes.

No, no, no, it was those arrogant B.R, drivers that can't drive in a straight line.

We already figured that out long before the facts came in.

We always do. You should know that.
