You're looking for rational thought from a guy who pledged allegiance to known enemies and shot up a nightclub.
I don't think you'll find logic there.

Pretty much have to level an entire region of the world. Can't play nice guy, and nation build either. We have to accept as a nation that some regions of the world simply will never work in a democracy. So we fire bomb the region. Then we place a pro-western dictator in power of the wasteland. the problem is, to truly solve the terror problem we will have to redraw maps which becomes very complicated.
This is a holy war, not a political one. The other side has set those rules of the game already. It's time for us to start playing by the rules of the game as well.

I don't think there's much you really can do without infringing on some very serious rights we enjoy in this country. Some may be for that, but I don't think I am. I'm not one to give up freedom for security.
That being said, there must be a HUGE movement within the Muslim community to out these people if they want to be able to enjoy the freedoms we have here. They need to publicly denounce these actions at every opportunity and actively report individuals that are suspicious. Really their entire religion needs an overhaul. You see it with Christianity, it has evolved with the times, but Islam is still stuck in the stone age.
It's really for their sake. There will be serious backlash against Muslims if this continues.

I agree, but the backlash needs to start before there will be change

Its been done.
It was a terrible, terrible decision in the long run.
See: Iran.

I'm just curious who we are going to be taking over this time. Are we going to avoid invading the Saudis? Just stick with Syria,Iraq,Afghanistan & Iran? What should we do about the situation in N.Africa?
Furthermore, Russia will try to muscle it's way into this situation and cause conflict with Western forces just for shite & gigs.
Again, I have no problem with the US keeping a close eye on the situation in the middle east and continuing the intelligence gathering on the region. But another deployment of American forces in the middle east will horribly backfire.

I get that, but the key factor is redrawing the maps. Nothing works unless we separate these fricking religious groups from each other.
An entire region has to go. All the leaders out. Maps redrawn/people shuffled. New leaders put in position over uniform cultures.
Not everywhere in the world is cut out to be a "melting pot"
Obviously, my plan would NEVER happen. But IMO it's the only ugly solution to ending constant terrorism against the west

That's part of the reason we are where we are.

Yeah, we re-drew them the wrong fricking way. We tried to make the middle eastern states melting pots, with complete disregard for religious conflict. We keep thinking we can just create tiny USA's all over the world.

I have no confidence we could draw them the correct way. That rabbit is out of the hat, there's no changing it. No matter what we could do, there would be a group pissed off, raise money and start killing people.
Maybe the best action is to stop meddling in the affairs of the middle east.
Posted on 6/14/16 at 3:46 pm to DirtyMikeandtheBoys
And yet you want to firebomb a whole region and place a pro western dictator in power.
Posted on 6/14/16 at 3:47 pm to poops_at_parties
Capture one of these frickers alive. Tie them to a table and disemble every part of his body. Video it and send it over to isis headquarters. They'll get the point.
