As of Monday, limited information has been released and no charges have been filed against the two unidentified school employees.

“It’s still early in the investigation,” Lt. Travis Theriot said. “We’ve got a lot of work to do.”

The alleged misconduct occurred on school grounds with students between the ages of 16 and 18, police said. Detectives received complaints about the employees last week.

Both school employees have since been placed on administrative leave, Police Chief Coleman said.

“We’re interviewing witnesses and potentially other victims,” Coleman said. “We take these investigations seriously. The school system and the victims have been cooperative in this investigation. We’ve got a good relationship with the school system here.”

Although Terrebonne Parish Superintendent Philip Martin declined to comment about the allegations, he said the school system is conducting its own investigation.

“If there’s anything to this, it’s a situation potentially involving students and personnel, so I can’t comment one way or another,” Martin said. “Obviously we take situations like this very seriously.”

Coleman said it is too early in the investigation to determine which if any specific charges will be filed against the employees.

“Once my detectives are completed with their investigation they will confer with me and we will confer with the DA’s Office,” Coleman said.

Police said they would release more information as the investigation develops.
