I think they is a majority of people who don't give a shite. Followed by a vocal minority that want them removed.
An even smaller number that is truly trying to stop the monuments.
That's a lot of words for you to say you agree with me.

This is their first big loss. Scared they may get treated like a minority now.
What is really lost here? Some fricking statues that have zero affect on anyone's real life? I understand for some white reason, people are mad about statues being removed. Their removal will have ZERO impact on your life. They will not nothing to change race relations, and only further divide people. Come back during election time, hold your elected officials responsible and vote their asses out. See what the next person brings to the table.

Yeah, most people that wanted them to stay just sat on the sidelines and watched. Whether they couldn't or didn't want to do things is up for discussion.

So does this mean WE get to act like "former" minorities now? GAME ON, MOTHERfrickERS!

What would New Orleans be without the "White People" money?
Probably just another dirty, smelly, crime infested shite hole.
Basically what it is already.

Mitch is gone. The council keeps getting reelected despite shite way worse than this.

think it is a slippery slope.
Why, by getting the will of the people to support removing the statues?

Also, we are well past the slippery slope. Enjoy the ride down.

The only thing that matters is that the people were not given the option to be heard. You say white people are now feeling what it's like to be a minority, and I don't agree with that at all.
Mitch unilaterally decided to do this regardless of what anyone wanted. He needed his "legacy" and decided this could be accomplished without much resistance.
I'm not following how you relate this to being treated as a minority.

White people of New Orleans are finding out what it feels like to be the minority and they definitley don't like it.
We're finding out what it's like to live in a Facist Dictatorship.
Revolution is usually what follows.

No one wanted them removed. It was a non issue until Mitch decided it would be a good way to get some name recognition.

Mitch is the reverse Clayton Bigsby of the BLM movement.

MLK was an outspoken hater of the LGBT community....take it down NOLA...he was a homophobe and a mysogonist and Malcolm X was a racist hater.

You do realize there would have needed to be a statewide election held to tear down the old Alex Box stadium if this law was in place?

I'm sure that bill will sit on JBEs desk until all of these statues are down. Even then it probably won't get signed.
Good news is that if it sits on his desk and doesn't get signed, it should automatically become law. I believe he has to actively veto the bill for it not to become law.

I believe the law as written applied to the jurisdiction owning the statue.
As far as Alex Box? I don't care. I also don't think many people would have minded them renovating vs tearing down.

Would probably need a statewide election for them to renovate it too

This, I'm already prepping my white race card.

You're absolutely wrong btw. Bill only applies to military monuments.
