who worked in the heat while I enjoyed a two month disappearing act.

After getting fired in January for not winning enough games I considered a career change. I wanted out of coaching and enrolled in grad school to become an administrator in the school systems.

During the summer, before hiring season got hot I wanted to enjoy my time off like most teachers do.

June 10th I put the truck in drive and headed for Colorado to visit the parents. We stopped in Durango for a few days. I made a trip up to Telluride to see what was going on up there. If you are on a tour of Colorado wanting to enjoy the recent law changes I would suggest going to Telluride. 4 shops to keep prices down, in the mountains and a sweet little town where everything is relaxed and slowed down.

I rode the narrow gauge train from Durango to Silverton. It drove right behind our hotel. If in Durango and you want to stay just outside of town I suggest the 'Iron Horse Inn.' Not too expensive and surrounded by mountains.

Before heading north to Grand Junction (where the family lives) we were cleaning out the fridge, this little dog is usually a food whore. This is the look I got when I tried feeding her day old nachos and some other crap. WHAT A BITCH.

Pulling into 'Joe Dirt Town' AKA Silverton

Just outside of Grand Junction is the 'grand meza' I took the toyota to the top and found a few friends to share my sunflower seeds with! Check out that view!

After a week and a half in Grand Junction I was getting a little bored so I convinced myself to drive to Vegas. Sorry boys, no pics. Had to leave all my memories there.

I ended up back in Colorado with my winnings and a smile on my face. So I took my supplies and decided to hike up the 'number one summer hike in colorado.' I visited 'Hanging Lake' just outside of Glenwood Springs.
This one is for the LLoTOT:

We also spent a day in Ouray. Check out this little mountain town with hot springs and cold beer!

On my 4 wheeler ride I found this little guy posted up.
This prairie dog was outside my parents' condo. I never understood why the old cowboys hated these things so much, until I saw the holes they leave in the ground. Willing to bet many horses broke their legs by stepping in one.

On the 30th I jumped on a plane and came back to Texas.

July 4th we hit up Willies Picnic in the Stockyards of Fort Worth. Here is my buddy singing 'Snake Farm.'

July 12th I met the gf in Miami. She had been in New York getting the BBC. Shite was worn out when I finally got some on the beach. We did all the cool tourist stuff. Rented scooters to cruise the island, jet ski tour, chilled on the beach and went para-sailing. I always thought this was stupid, if you get a chance to do it you should.

Thank God I had this little bridge with me all week!

I have to thank the man whoever invented the new brazilian bikinies. Those things are freaking hot. I suggest sunglasses anytime you visit a beach. Lots of booty hanging out! Miami is very dark. But this is where you see the most booty and boobs on the beach!

I want to thank those that worked while I was able to enjoy a wonderful, restful, exciting and eventful summer.

After long thought and weighing my options, I hav decided to stay in Grad School but remain coaching. Everyone was right, once I saw I missed summer workouts I missed that shite. Next week I will begin my new coaching job. I get to coach the Inside Receivers/TE. New system, better athletes and more pay. I can't ask for much more.

I am aware my pictures are not that great. I just point and shoot. No filter or enhancing. I do not have the patience to do all that.

TL;DR: Teachers need more pay and longer vacations!

I wasn't the head man. Just receivers and ST coordinator.

Shite trickles downhill when your boss gets the can.

Hopefully, it doesn't happen again. Took 6 years the first time.....

Metroplex in Texas

Was on the west side of Fort Worth. Now south of Arlington in Mansfield.

Great post. Thanks. Reminds me of the trip the wife and I took in July of '08 before kids.
We made that same loop in Colorado - Durango, Silverton, Ouray, etc.

I was there June 10-15. Something about being 12K in elevation made it too cold for me in a t-shirt and shorts.

Seems to be a Texas thing, at least in the public schools.

I don't remember being cold on that ride

however... I do remember riding a tram up Pike's Peak and it started showing while we were up there... so that was pretty cool
