Storm shelters

Just wonder if anybody has one plus is it above ground or under.
I eventually am going to get one
Just need advice on them for the most part

Pick whichever gives you easier access in the case of a tornado.. Some people prefer having an above ground safe room connected to their house, which is properly built and anchored can be just as safe as an underground one.

I was told that underground shelters won't work in the south due to leaching of the soil caused by too much rainfall.

when I build a house, one thing that will be included is a walk-in closet that will be reinforced to double as a storm shelter....

Live in BHM. Have an in ground in my garage. Fits up to six people. Not too expensive. You can look at Vulcan Storm Shelters locally or Ground Zero out of OK. They travel the southeast and install. I had one from both in past two houses.
