lol. No. It’s still a chargeable accident. ISO also doesn’t typically say it was in a parking lot either
I didn't say it wasn't a chargeable accident. I said you get dinged less for parking lot accidents.

It’s private property instead of a public road. So, it’s not like you’ll get a ticket for running it. Having said that, it’s not a good idea to run a stop sign as this is a good way to either hit someone or be hit.

Parking lot accidents are treated exactly like traffic accidents on the roadway with regards to underwriting and rates. i.e. it’s a chargeable accident.
Some states have an “off public roadway” exception for rate increase, but they all identify a “public roadway” as being accessible by the general public - like a parking lot.

So like I said, you won't get dinged (ie rate increase) as much. But didn't say it was different from state to state.

No, they are liability deflectors for the property owner.

Maybe I gave you too much information to digest. You will be dinged the same. There is no difference in a parking lot accident and an accident on a roadway.

Maybe you are not understanding the simple concept of "dinged" I originally meant. Ie...your rate isn't increasing the same as if it werent in a parking lot.

Yes it will. I can’t be more clear than that.
They are treated as chargeable accidents. There is no differentiating that it occurred in a parking lot at Walmart or on the interstate.

Surely he means if there aren’t any pedestrians present? I’ve always wondered the same. I assume no, and have always treated it like that.
I mean those pedestrians can pop out of the store pretty quick. At least always slow down and yield if you really want to ignore the stop sign.

Don’t know. Just hate it when “certain people” park in front of the store and leave their vehicle or are waiting on their fat, lazy, spouse.
I start seeing red.

Not only do you not have to stop, you should absolutely leave your cart in the next parking spot. Alternatively you can cast it in a random direction and let gravity take over.

NO because it’s not a DOT roadway

Gotta be careful though - when I was a teenager I got a speeding ticket at the Slidell Mall on the outer road that goes around the mall. Had no idea it was a Slidell road. 36 in a 15. 17 years old and got absolutely reamed by my parents.
