This isn’t really brought on by anything real. I’m drinking and watching some click bait bs “when cockiest fighters get humbled”or something
You know who one of my favorite athletes ever is. Barry sanders. Td. Td. Td. Td. Here you go ref. Have a nice day. My personal pick for greatest ever. But I digress.
Let your performance speak for you. I love Ali but I think he started this shite talking trend.
All these athletes have agents.
Let that dude do his job.
When they ask the heavy weight champ are you worried about the fight say “it’s not my job to worry. It’s my job to fight. The guys fast he’s strong he’s smart and he’s only been doing this 15 years but he’s ten years younger and talented so I guess we’ll see what happens”
When they ask the ballplayer railing homers everyday say something humbling like “I’ve been working a lot. I’m getting lucky a lot too”
The correlation is there.
Maybe I’m getting old.
I don’t remember people always being assholes. I know there were assholes. Just didn’t seem like the whole world.
Edit: I’m gonna add to my dv count. Just saw a thread where the real bill is 38,000? For a meal. And they act like assholes.
frick these people.

i believe in true sportsmanship
the easiest example for me to cite is when the ump and catcher pause and walk towards the mound to allow time for a batter who just fouled a ball off his ankle to walk it off

I like seeing a football player truck an opposing player and then extend a hand to help him up off the ground.

There is still some decency out there. The Baylor quarterback praying for Whit Weeks was a great act of sportsmanship.

Now after a routine tackle on a four yard gain, the tackler tries to straddle the runner. I think anyone who purposefully straddles a runner should get kicked in the balls. This kick should be ignored by the refs.

The Sun Devil Coach running to catch some of his players before they walked off the field. Turned them around to go back and shake hands with Longhorn players. (Even after a screwing by refs)

Randy Moss fake pants pull down was the best.
