When I was a kid I thought by 2020 we’d have some close-up imagery to look at. We making progress on the high-powered telescope resolution front or what?

A few weeks ago, there was an image released of planets around a G type star. Big news. JWST will allow us to look at space from a different POV. Launch 2026 (fingers crossed).

Cool. At the current technological pace, what year will we be able to zoom in on an exoplanet with a high enough resolution to check for signs of intelligence?
