For a bare bones, great pinot experience, consider Dutton Goldfield in RRV. You won't feel important, but you can really get great info on wine and taste some fantastic pinots. It's a wine, rather than wine country, experience.

For sparklings, Domaine Carneros in Napa has great views and is an easy visit with or without reservations. Assuming you have any time to over to Napa, of course.

Ah, Barndiva...they make some of the best cocktails out there. And there's usually a band playing there on Wednesday nights.

I liked Imagery, Artesa (between Napa and Sonoma) and Gundlach Bundchu.

The Girl and the Fig is a good restaurant as well.

Was there earlier this month.....best advice I have is to change your destination to Napa.
