We didn't even price a shingle roof. Our house is a 2 story with 4603 under roof and it was $15800 installed. We used Majestic Metals galvalume. We went with the standard corrugated instead of standing seam. We are very pleased. Here it is so you have an idea.

I am having plans drawn up now and will be building close to you. Can I email you a few questions about your building experience?

I like that and its similar to what I want minus the parking area and small side piece.

We have a 22x24 Dbl carport off to the side. There is also a single car carport in the back that you can't see from that pic. My ceilings are 9 ft downstairs except for the living room which is open to the upstairs. The upstairs ceilings are 9 ft also.the only thing I wouldn't do again is the hardi plank. It's A lot of painting.

Can't answer your question in terms of construction cost but I wanted to comment on its HVAC expense.
I agree it looks pretty and makes a smaller room look huge, but from experience I'd advise you to consider your a/c expense before deciding to go this route. Our HVAC has to run a lot longer in the summers to keep the temp correct than if it were a regular 10' ceiling height room.

Where we are building there is no shade so this may be an issue as well
