Reminds me of boarding CH-47 years ago for an evening jump, noticed a pretty good spot of oil on the floor, crew chief said “that’s the rear transmission, we only worry when it quits leaking, then it’s out”…

Whistling shitcan of death.

One of those things tried to kill me once. We were standing on a flight line in Norway. The Hog taxied too close to a wood hanger, and all of a sudden the world was full of shrapnel. I yelled "hit the deck" and dove into a snowbank, with my back seater a half second behind.

Nobody hurt, but it messed up a couple of aircraft as well as the rotor on the Hog.

They were at 1000ft. Shook my house when they flew over.

Flew directly over my pier and beam house while I was on the back porch. Loud and shook my house quite a bit. Impresssive really.

When I was a youngin one of my dad's friends flew them in the Marine Corps Reserves. He would make a low pass over our house once in a while. It will get your attention.
