Then that person dies, sadly and unfortunately. Like it’s been in the entirety of human and animal history.

Now do babies.

So should we just follow how things have been in human and animal history? Why can’t we rise above that and not let that happen?

We do, and have risen above that for the entirety of human history. What we don’t need is government enforcement of it at the barrel of a gun through the imposition of taxes to do so.

Ok, many conservatives hold these stringent views on individualism and not receiving any outside help, but banning abortion will increase the need for this 100 fold. And if they don’t get help they will turn to crime naturally.

I agree. That's what family is for.

Stop destroying family

Why are you removing the accountability from the parents in your hypothetical. The mom and dad have the responsibility of raising the child to conform to the agreed upon societal norms.

Holy crap. If someone is poor they are naturally going to turn to crime? That is one of the most bigoted statements I’ve ever read on this site.

So your solution with babies is to kill them, but with old people it’s a crisis that requires government protection. No inconsistency there.

Disagree, some things shouldn’t be left up to the voluntary whim of others. Some things should be a right. Like the right to life, which would be thwarted by having an “fend for yourself” attitude, in many cases

This world view is something out of Disney...

When you remove opportunity and responsibility, people turn to crime. Everyone has a survival instinct and will do whats necessary to survive. If you keep propping failed people up, you end up with idiocracy.

Not at all. As has been stated, there’s a huge difference between charity/cooperation and state mandated collectivism.

What should people be forced to do, under penalty of prison or economic penalty?

Is it really? There was a thread I was posting in yesterday where a guy said “blackies commit all the crime”. So please spare me

You act as if these things haven’t been in place in every developed country for decades. Yes we should be “forced” to care for those that are elderly, injured, etc.

That “forced” part can create a lot of resentment and hate.

Things change, we evolve and improve.

Why would you want to continue archaic tribal alliances that leads to a dumbing down of the population?

No one realizes their potential tied to a cult. Unless its the leader.

Well then so be it, there are plenty of things that are forced. If you go rob the corner store then you will be forced to suffer the consequences.
